This is a component that I have often used. In fact it is the one I always use. Really the only bad thing about it being a commercial component now is that it is going to cost you $35.00 now. That is $35.00 per installation, but if you are designing a website for a client, it is definately worth the few extra bucks.

For those of you who do not know what this component does, its main purpose is to rewrite Joomla URLs from something like this: ?php/Awh@leL@70fBla7h3R to something more user friendly like this: /we-rule.html. There are a ton of other features to the plugin too that I can't/won't go into in this post.

The benefits of going commercial is that the potential for it to become an active component again with REAL support is there. Money drives developent is the bottom line. WIth a little cash flow coming in there is more incentive to create more plugins for other components and a bunch of paying customers compaining if they don't.

I for one am glad to see this component go commercial.
